Attention actors, singers, dancers ages 8-18. A special opportunity will be happening in Hawaii on Saturday, February 21st.
Broadway music director and Emmy award winner Michael Rafter will be having a workshop at the University of Hawaii's Orvis Auditorium.
This event will be co-sponsored by The University of Hawaii Manoa Music Department and Destination Broadway.
Michael will talk with students and parents about "What it takes to succeed as a young performer."
In this FREE presentation, Michael will explain what is important in an audition and what directors REALLY look for, the "ins and outs" of children and young people in the performing arts, how to create and exude a positive image in an audition, the skills necessary for most Broadway acting, dance and vocal roles and much more.
If you are interested in a career as a performing artist, then this is your chance to learn about performance and career opportunities for young singers, dancers and actors plus the training and preparation that you will need to be successful!
It's also your chance to ask questions and learn more about the Destination Broadway 2015 Summer Workshop in New York City!
Michael will answer questions and there will be a short audition opportunity after the session.
The Audition will consist of a short, one-on-one private interview with Michael. You will be asked to vocalize. IF you have a prepared song, please be prepared to sing that. Michael will accompany you on the piano.
This is a great opportunity for parents to get first hand advice from a Broadway Music Director about careers in the performing arts, college choices and how you can assist your child.
