KONA, HAWAII (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Big Island community members are taking a moment to honor the family of two boys who died in a house fire last month.

This week, a Kona business called Jackie's Balloon Creations is donating nearly 300 balloons to release at Holualoa Elementary, the school that 11-year-old Dexen Matsuyama and his brother Kaeden, 6, attended.

Jackie Suzuki, the owner of the company, is a family friend of the Matsuyamas.

“Letting the balloons go into the sky…it's kind of a closure for everybody,” she said.

Supporters will participate in the balloon release on Wednesday at 9 a.m. A company from Hilo will also be helping out by donating all the helium for the balloons.

The balloons will be blue and green, the boys' favorite colors.
