Committee nominates 3 to replace state Rep. Mele Carroll

WAILUKU, Hawaii (AP) - The Democratic Party District 13 Selection Committee has submitted three names to Gov. David Ige to replace state Rep. Mele Carroll.

The Maui News reports the three are Lucienne de Naie of Huelo and Molokai residents Lynn DeCoite and Lori Buchanan.

Carroll resigned Feb. 1 for health reasons.

District 13 covers East Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Molokini and Kahoolawe.

De Naie is a consultant. She serves on the Maui Cultural Lands Advisory Board and is secretary of Haiku Community Association.

DeCoite is owner of L&R Farm Enterprises and R.J. Snacks. She serves on the state Board of Agriculture and is president of Molokai Homestead Farmers' Alliance.

Buchanan is a field outreach coordinator for the Molokai/Maui Invasive Species Committee. She co-owns Molokai Security Service and is a Molokai Planning Commission member.
