High Surf Advisory in effect for north shores

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A subsiding northwest swell is bringing advisory-level surf to the islands on Monday. The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Advisory for north-facing shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Maui and the Big Island.

The advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Monday. A High Surf Warning has been canceled.

Forecasters expect surf to rise to heights of 12 to 16 feet along north shores.
