Jury dismisses lawsuit against HPD Chief's wife, Katherine Kealoha

A Jury has dismissed a lawsuit against Katherine Kealoha, the wife of Honolulu Police Chief Louis Kealoha.  The jury also awarded her $650,000 in general and punitive damages.

Katherine Kealoha – who is also a high-ranking attorney in the City Prosecutor's Office – was accused of taking about $200,000 from her uncle and her grandmother. The two say Mrs. Kealoha took advantage of them, convincing them to take out a reverse mortgage. The money was used to buy a home for the uncle and Mrs. Kealoha used the leftover cash.
