Local gymnast scores high at 2015 Houston National Invitational

HOUSTON, TEXAS (HAWAIINEWSNOW) - Maia Amano of St. Andrews Priory School won her first USA Gymnastics Level 10 during a gymnastics meet on Monday in Houston, TX.

It was the 11-year-old's first meet as a Level 10 gymnast at the Houston National Invitational. Amano won first place on a double-mini trampoline and fifth place on individual trampoline in the 10-12 age group.

Her next competition will be in Holland at the famous Flower Cup.

Amano spends her time training at Hawaii Academy and is coached by Spencer Dupio, Nani Vercruyssen, and Kelsen Onigama.
