Big Island police investigate copper theft

KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii (AP) - Police on Hawaii's Big Island are investigating the theft of 4,000 feet of copper wire in Kau.

West Hawaii Today reports the copper wire was stolen sometime between 10 p.m. Jan. 5 and 8 a.m. Jan. 6 in the Wood Valley area.

Police say the wire is valued at more than $39,000.
