HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Eddie Flores, Jr., President and CEO of L &L Franchise, Inc., is releasing a brand new book titled 108 Tips on Business, Travel, and Culture in China. The book balances history, personal anecdotes and humor to guide the reader through customs and etiquette common in China and Chinese culture.
The latest book from Flores, co-authored by Elisia Flores, Chief Financial Officer of L & L Franchise, Inc., features humorous illustrations drawn by local cartoonist Jon Murakami demonstrating Flores' tips on Chinese culture.
Being of half Chinese ancestry, Flores was born in Hong Kong and communicates in Cantonese and Mandarin. Flores has a wealth of experience dating back to the 70's in dealing with Chinese. Flores achieved his success through what is now known as L & L Hawaiian Barbecue, a business he started 1976 with business partner Johnson Kam. They have popularized Hawaii's Pacific Rim fusion cuisine commonly known as the "plate lunch" around the world. L&L has expanded to 200 locations throughout the United States, and internationally in New Zealand, Japan, Indonesia and China. Unbeknownst to most, Flores
The Original Hawaiian Barbecue® established L & L's presence through his effort in helping many Chinese immigrants franchise the majority of the 60 Hawaii L & L Drive-inn/Hawaiian Barbecue locations. And in 2012, L & L expanded its worldwide presence to China with its first location in the city of Humen. Since then, two more locations have been opened in the country. Flores travels to China frequently and is the President-elect for the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii. The book is the summation of his experiences, shared in his signature style. "I created this book to help people learn about China and Chinese culture in a fun and easy way," Flores notes. "This book is a must-have reference for anyone interested in Chinese cultural, travel and business."
Flores' new book is his 2nd foray into major publishing. His first work, $266 Million Winning Lottery Recipes: L & L Hawaiian Barbecue Cookbook became a best-seller among books published in Hawaii with over 20,000 copies in circulation. Similar to the cookbook, Flores' latest work also features local celebrities, Eddie's personal stories, L & L history, and franchisees.
In celebration of the upcoming Chinese New Year, the book will be available for free as an eBook download from February 3-5, 2015 only. To download the e-Book for free, visit participating L & L locations for a free download card or click here for more information.
