Marine Corps Base Hawaii residents to undergo scheduled power outages

MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII, KANEOHE (HawaiiNewsNow) -

All Marine Corps Base Hawaii residents will experience power outages every other Saturday from Feb. 14 through May 21. The outages are necessary to make upgrades to the base's main electrical power grid.

The power outages are scheduled to last between 12 and 18.5 hours, according to the U.S. Marine Corps. The upgrades are needed so base facilities can continue meeting the electrical demands of existing and future base facilities.

The power outages are scheduled for the following dates and times:

East MCBH:

  • 6:30 a.m. on Feb. 14 to 1 a.m. on Feb. 15
  • Feb. 28 from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • March 28 from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • April 11 from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Entire MCBH:

  • March 14 from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • April 25 from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • May 9 from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
