There may be a way to settle the immigration standoff.
Congress deliberately withheld finalizing the budget for Homeland Security so it could use that budget to argue about President Obama's executive orders on immigration.
But sooner or later, Homeland Security needs a budget, and the problem for Republicans is they have a simple majority for undoing those executive orders but not a two-thirds majority.
Without that, they can't override a veto and on Senate side they can't even close off debate. So what so they do?
House Speaker Boehner floated an idea to his conference Tuesday and they liked it.
The idea? Sue.
The President issued an executive order last fall to delay the deportation of illegal aliens who have children who were born in America and are U.S. citizens.
