HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A northwest swell will continue to produce advisory level-surf for some Hawaiian Islands. A High Surf Advisory is in effect for north- and west-facing shores of Niihau, Kauai and Oahu, and for north-facing shores of Molokai and Molokai. The advisory lasts until 6 a.m. Thursday.

NWS forecasters said surf heights will be between 12 and 18 feet along north- and west-facing shores of Niihau and Kauai, and north-facing shores of Oahu, Molokai and Maui. Waves will be between 8 and 14 feet for west-facing shores of Oahu.

Strong breaking waves, shore break and strong longshore and rip currents will make swimming difficult and dangerous. Beachgoers should heed all advice given by Ocean Safety officials.
