HONOLULU (AP) - A group of voters is renewing its request for an investigation into a state representative's qualifications to serve.

Lawyer Lance Collins represents six voters who argue former House Speaker Rep. Calvin Say doesn't live in the district he represents.

Collins sent a letter to House Speaker Joe Souki asking him to take action on the issue. The Associated Press obtained a copy.

The group initially asked the Legislature to intervene in 2013, but the House referred the matter to the courts.

But Circuit Court Karen Nakasone ruled courts can't decide whether a representative meets residency requirements. She said that's a matter for the House.

Souki's spokeswoman says he is reviewing the letter which arrived late Friday.

The Legislature reconvenes Wednesday.

Say and Collins didn't immediately return phone calls for comment.
