KAPAA, KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) - An extended furlough inmate on Kauai has been reported missing since Wednesday night, the Hawaii Department of Public Safety said.
Staff from the program in Kapaa said Orlando Manguchei disappeared around 8:15 p.m. from the transitional home where he resided. Kauai police have been notified.
Manguchei is 5'6", weighs about 150 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. He was serving time for terroristic threatening, promoting a dangerous drug and parole violation. Once found, he will likely be charged for escape.
Inmates in the extended furlough program live and work outside of the correctional facility.
