A High Surf Advisory to go into effect for north- and west-facing shores
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -
The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a High Surf Advisory which is in effect until 6 p.m. Tuesday. The advisory applies to north- and west-facing shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu and Molokai, and north-facing shores of Maui.
Forecasters at NWS said surf will be between 12 to 16 feet along north-facing shores, and 8 to 12 feet along west-facing shores.
Strong breaking waves and currents will make swimming dangerous, NWS said, and beachgoers should heed all advice from ocean safety officials.
