Marine Corps warns of more aircraft activity on Oahu

KANEOHE BAY, Hawaii (AP) - The Marine Corps says Oahu residents may see and hear increased aircraft activity as fighter jets stay at the Marine base in Kaneohe Bay through early next month.

The Marine Corps said Tuesday F/A-18 Hornet planes are temporarily staying at Marine Corps Base Hawaii in support of an exercise called "Lava Viper."

The Marines say the flights won't last past midnight.

Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 323 from Miramar, California is supporting the training of about 1,000 Marines.
