WAILUKU, Hawaii (AP) - The Maui mayor's office is seeking nominations for the mayor's annual small business awards.

The awards recognize outstanding businesses with 100 or fewer employees.

Winners must demonstrate business leadership in a changing economic environment and create a quality work environment for employees. They are also expected to have exemplary customer service and display the aloha spirit.

Awards will also recognize an outstanding nonprofit business and the young small business person of the year.

Nominations must be submitted to Maui County Business Resource Center at Maui Mall noon on Feb. 6.

Finalists and winners will be honored at a dinner at the King Kamehameha Golf Club on Feb. 26.
