MAALAEA, MAUI (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Maui police are on the lookout for suspects involved in an ATM robbery in Maalaea.

The Maui Police Department said, at approximately 3:45 a.m. on Sunday, thieves broke into Hula Cookies and Ice Cream, causing up to $6,000 in damages.

The glass windows on the front and side of the shop were shattered. The floor tiles and photos on the wall were also ruined during the incident.

Cassie Davis, the manager of the store which has been open for 15 years, said she was heartbroken.

"All of our pictures are broken and stuff, and it's just terrible," Davis said.

Maui has suffered a rash of ATM robberies in the past few months. In November, someone stole a cash machine from the Maui Arts and Cultural Center. Another ATM was stolen from the Maui Mall on Christmas Eve.
