Massachusetts man and 2 surfers rescued at Honl's Beach

KAILUA-KONA, HAWAII (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Three men were rescued off of Honl's Beach in Kailua on the Big Island.

The Hawaii County Fire Department responded to the call just after 2:30 p.m.

A 22-year-old man from Dover, Massachusetts was swimming at Honl's Beach Park when the current pulled him about 200 yards offshore.

Two surfers helped the man in distress by stabilizing him with their surfboards.

HFD swam out and stayed with the trio until they were airlifted out of the water.

No injuries were reported.
