Authorities say Hilo Walmart fire appears intentionally set

HILO, Hawaii (AP) - Authorities on Hawaii's Big Island say there is evidence that a fire at the Hilo Walmart was intentionally set.

No injuries were reported in the fire that broke out Tuesday in the men's section of the store.

The Hawaii Tribune-Herald reports the cause of the fire is under investigation.

The late afternoon fire closed the store for more than 4 ½ hours.

Police Lt. Greg Esteban says it appears that men's shirts were ignited at the store.

Esteban says the fire is suspicious because there was no immediate source of ignition, such as an electrical outlet.

The fire was limited to a single clothes rack after store workers put out the blaze before authorities arrived and evacuated the store.

Two men are being sought as possible suspects.
