Wind Advisory posted for Big Island summits

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

[Update 1/5]

A cold front that passed through the state with heavy rain and strong winds has weakened and is pulling away from the islands, leaving lighter winds and drier conditions.

The National Weather Service issued a Wind Advisory which is in effect for the summit areas of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa until noon on Monday. Forecasters say northwest winds will be between 25 to 45 mph, with localized gusts over 55 mph. Wind speeds will gradually decrease during the morning.
