Obamas heading to Hawaii Friday

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - President Obama and the First Family will travel to Honolulu Friday for their seventh straight Christmas vacation. 

Hawaii News Now has learned that the First Family is expected to arrive on Oahu late Friday night.

Air Force One is scheduled to touch down at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam sometime around 11 p.m.

The Obamas are expected to stay once again at a private home in Kailua. 

security zone off Kailua Bay is already in effect. It stretches from Kapoho Point to Kailuana Loop. It includes the canal you pass over on North Kalaheo Avenue.

The restrictions last until January 5.

Anyone who violates the zone could face a $40,000 fine and jail time.

This will be President Obama's seventh consecutive Christmas vacation in Hawaii, White House officials say he plans to spend 16 days in Hawaii.
