FBI Honolulu division gets new special agent in charge

HONOLULU (AP) - There's a new special agent in charge of the FBI's Honolulu division.

The FBI announced Friday that Paul Delacourt has been named to the position.

Delacourt most recently served in the inspection division at FBI headquarters, where he led reviews of field offices, national programs, shooting incidents and special projects.

He's been in the agency since 1995. His assignments have included the Chicago division, the Guantanamo Bay task force and a deployment to Afghanistan.

In 2003, he was promoted to supervisory special agent in the counterterrorism division.

From 2009 to 2011 he served as FBI liaison to a counter-narcotics task force at U.S. Pacific Command at Hawaii's Camp Smith. In 2012, he was promoted to assistant special agent in charge of the Honolulu division.

He replaces Vida Bottom, who retired.
