HONOLULU (AP) - An Oahu grand jury has indicted a man suspected of causing the death of a passenger in his pickup and fleeing afterward.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports the grand jury Tuesday indicted 19-year-old Kamealohanakekaiaulu Wilbur-Delima on counts of negligent homicide and failing to remain at the scene of the accident.

The crash on June 15, 2013, near Makua Cave killed 16-year-old Zain Lalawai. Police say he was one of 11 passengers in the truck.

Witness say the truck was speeding and weaving before it left the Farrington Highway, struck a concrete piling and ignited.

Children age 13, 14, 15 and 16 were taken to a hospital in serious condition. Lalawai's body was found after the fire was extinguished.

Police say Wilbur-Delima turned himself in nearly 12 hours after the crash.
