Several large holiday displays, including the iconic Shaka Santa and his partner Tutu Mele, arrived at Honolulu Hale on Tuesday, December 2.

In preparation for the annual Honolulu City Lights celebration, Shaka Santa and Tutu Mele are being assembled and placed by the fountain on the front lawn at Honolulu Hale, facing South King Street.

Also installed on Tuesday: a new addition to the traditional lawn display, consisting of a six-member keiki choir and a dancing dog. This new feature will be installed on the Diamond Head side of Honolulu Hale.

Now in its 30th year, Honolulu City Lights opens Saturday, December 6, with a tree lighting ceremony beginning at 6 p.m.

The tree topping ceremony will take place Friday December 5 at 2pm.
