HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Hawaii Department of Transportation urges drivers to take caution as several street lights are out at key stretches of Oahu roads.
Several outages have been reported, including one on Nimitz Highway near Sand Island, which has been out for months. The DOT said it was caused by a copper theft. Crews are making repairs which are expected to continue through early January.
Other recent outages include the H-1 freeway, near the Pearl City / H-3 Aiea cutoff as well as near the Waikele to Waipahu offramps. The DOT is investigating the causes of those outages.
To report any road-related problems, call the DOT at (808) 831-6714 or send an email to DOTPAO@hawaii.gov.
