PEARL CITY, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A Pearl City street is closed while Board of Water Supply crews make repairs to a water main break that sent a geyser of water shooting nearly 50 feet in the air.

Crews initially made repairs to the 8-inch water main on Kalauipo Street that first broke Wednesday afternoon at approximately 1:30 p.m. After receiving reports of a second break at around 3:30 a.m. Thursday, they then returned to the scene of gushing water that lasted for about a half hour.

According to BWS, eight homes are still without water, but a water wagon will be available.

The water main was installed in 1966.
