CURATE décor + design, LLC is pleased to announce “Design House,” a three-day design exhibition beginning on November 12 featuring the works of fashion design, furniture design, graphic design, and event design under one roof. CURATE décor + design will transform the Cupola Theater at the Honolulu Design Center, into an interactive exhibition pairing items from the individual Spring 2015 lines of The Cut Collective designers, alongside select furniture pieces from INspiration Interiors, and graphic and print elements from HONBLUE.
“There are many common threads amongst various creative industries and we're excited to bring together multiple disciplines of design and craft a house within the Cupola Theater to exhibit the creative work of the teams involved,” said Abner Aquino, partner and creative lead of CURATE décor + design.
Larry Heim, President of HONBLUE shared that their team is also “honored to represent the graphics and print community at the Design House exhibition. To bring all of these seemingly disparate disciplines together under one roof is to invite greatness. We eagerly anticipate the conversations, connections and wonder that the exhibition will inspire.”
Curated fashion designs will be shown from The Cut Collective and their team is “thrilled that our local in-house designers will be representing the inspiration for fashion design. Despite us all working together in a collaborative workspace, our pieces will showcase each of our uniqueness and design individuality,” said Summer Shiigi, cofounder of The Cut Collective and designer of Ten Tomorrow.
All events will take place within the various spaces of the Honolulu Design Center. "We're fortunate to have Stage Restaurant's dining room showcase a preview of our dining tables and chairs, but welcome this great opportunity to present a tailored selection of fashion pieces paired with bedroom, office, and kitchen furniture to help inspire your lifestyle” said Irwin Mencias, Digital Marketing & Events Coordinator for the Honolulu Design Center.
Design House is free and open to all ages with several events running throughout the three days. A private media and VIP kick-off event will take place on November 12th for industry professionals. Stage Restaurant will also offer Low Tea service the afternoon of November 12th with guests given special access and the opportunity to participate in the kick-off activities. The public may view the exhibition from 10am – 10pm on November 13 and 14, and a pop-up retail shop will be available from 6pm-10pm on November 14th to purchase items from The Cut Collective's current collection. Stage Restaurant and Amuse Wine bar will offer tours of the exhibition before meal service, including a “Dinner by Design” menu with Cocktail Parings. The exhibition will close on November 14 with a “Designer's Open House” panel discussion at 6:30pm where visitors will hear from representatives of The Cut Collective, INspiration Interiors, CURATE décor + design, and HONBLUE about their design contributions.
