HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -
Kraft Foods in Hawaii recently launched the 21st annual Check-Out Hunger program with a $5,000 donation to the Hawaii Foodbank.
Running through January 16, 2015, at participating grocery stores, the annual fundraising campaign helps to feed Hawaii's hungry during the holiday season.
Shoppers can get involved with the Check-Out Hunger program by tearing off a bright green coupon during check-out at participating grocery stores.
Donations can be made in three amounts: $2.81 to feed a child breakfast for a week; $12.43 to feed a senior lunch for a month; and $16.84 to feed a family dinner for a week.
The amount of the coupon will be added to the bill and donated to one of the local food banks: the Hawaii Foodbank, the Maui Food Bank, Hawaii Foodbank Kauai Branch or The Food Basket on the Big Island. Donations made on each island will stay on that island.
