Volunteer Legal Services Hawaii is a legal service provider established in 1981 to complement the efforts of the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii.
Volunteer Legal Services Hawaii mobilizes volunteer attorneys to provide pro bono legal services to those who seek assistance with a civil legal problem and are unable to afford it. Its mission is to ensure legal access for individuals and families who face financial and social challenges throughout the State of Hawaii.
In recognition of Veterans Day, Legal Services Hawaii is launching a Veterans Legal Assistance project in November 2014 to assist veterans in applying for VA benefits and filing appeals for claims that have been erroneously denied. Services will extend to veterans experiencing other civil legal matters including family law, bankruptcy, estate planning, collections and tenant rights.
