A High Surf Advisory is in effect for east-facing shores of the Hawaiian islands until 6 a.m. Saturday.
According the National Weather Service, a moderate north swell combined with strong, easterly trade winds will produce hazardous surf conditions. Waves are forecasted to be between 6 to 9 feet along east-facing shores.
Forecasters expect strong breaking waves, shore break and strong longshore and rip currents that will make swimming difficult and dangerous.
Beachgoers should heed all advice given by ocean safety officials.
