Honolulu firefighters battle flames at Turtle Bay Resort

TURTLE BAY, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

The Honolulu Fire Department is investigating a fire at the Turtle Bay Resort that caused nearly $1 million in damage.

Firefighters were dispatched at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday. About 20 firefighters battled the flames that ripped through a 40-by-60-foot single-story maintenance facility that stores 80 golf carts as well as charging equipment.

HFD said one firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion and transported to the hospital.

The fire was under control by 5 a.m., but HFD is still investigating the cause of the fire.
