HONOLULU (AP) - Republican Charles Djou has been endorsed by The National Federation of Independent Business in his race to replace U.S. Rep. Colleen Hanabusa in Congress.
Djou is running against Democratic state Rep. Mark Takai.
Djou says small business is the backbone of Hawaii's economy and generates so many of the community's new jobs. He says if elected he'll advocate for Hawaii as a member of the majority caucus.
Djou held represented Hawaii's 1st Congressional District for seven months from 2010 to 2011 after he won a three-way special election.
