2 men critically injured in separate incidents at Waikiki Beach
WAIKIKI (HawaiiNewsNow) -
Two men are in critical condition after nearly drowning in two separate incidents at Waikiki Beach Saturday.
Officials say a man in his 50s was apparently surfing near the area outside of the Duke Kahanamoku statue around 7:30 a.m. when he was found in distress by bystanders. The incident happened before lifeguards were on duty, according to EMS.
EMS transported the man to an area hospital in critical condition.
Around the same time officials also responded to a possible drowning on 2405 Kalakaua Ave. The victim, a 57-year-old man, was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
