KAIMUKI, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Lanes of Waialae Avenue, near Wilhemina Rise, are closed Wednesday as crews make repairs to a water main break.
According to the Board of Water Supply, the 12-inch main broke at approximately 9:45 p.m. Tuesday. An old pipe, installed in the early 1900s, snapped in the middle, sending water gushing out, BWS said.
Honolulu police have blocked off one lane in each direction of Waialae Avenue, from Kokohead Avenue to 16th Avenue.
Approximately six homes are without water, but a water wagon is available on Waialae Avenue.
