SUMMIT Fest today announced Ward Village as its title sponsor and venue host for the inaugural celebration of arts, culture and ideas, taking place Oct. 24 to 26. The three-day event, which is centered on the theme, “Makahiki – Rejuvenating the Commons,” will showcase Hawai‘i – an innovation hub to the world for sharing culture and exploring issues – for kama‘aina and visitors alike.
“We couldn't be more thrilled to partner with Ward Village, a community and brand that truly resonates with SUMMIT Fest's mission to make Hawai‘i a key player in developing a collaborative future for our state and beyond,” said Matthew Lynch, Managing Director of SUMMIT Fest. “Thanks to Ward Village, our weekend of events has a place to call home, right in the middle of the exciting and rapidly changing neighborhood of Kaka‘ako.”
Featured speakers at the first annual SUMMIT Fest include Native Hawaiian artist Solomon Enos, published academic and archaeologist Terry Hunt, international poet and recording artist Iyeoka Ivie Okoawo and Project Runway Season 13 local designer Kini Zamora.
