Calling All Animal Lovers for Hawaiian Humane Society’s Charity Walk

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

It's time to put paws and feet to the pavement to celebrate the Hawaiian Humane Society's 24th Annual PetWalk on October 12 at Magic Island. Thousands of pets and people all come together for one common goal—to raise money to benefit animals and people on Oahu.

There are two courses: the long course (2 miles) or the short course (.5 miles). In addition to the pet-friendly walk, there will be a pet costume contest, pet float contest, family-friendly activities and refreshments. On-site registration starts at 7 am and the walk begins at 8 am.

The City & County of Honolulu is making a one-day special exception to allow pets at the beach park. Pets are not permitted any other day of the year.

Supporters can register and collect donations at HawaiianHumane.org/PetWalk. Those that rally a team of 5 friends who each have an online giving page will be entered to win a trip to Vegas for two or two-night vacation in Hawaii. The top 5 teams that collect the most donations will win a private party at the Humane Society Dog Park.
