HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - There have been a string of kidnapping attempts on the islands these past few weeks and many parents are now worried about their children's safety. Prevent Child Abuse Hawaii has posted 26 tips on their website in order to keep our keiki safe. These tips are not only for children but for parents as well.
Sunrise brought in Aileen Deese, the Executive Director of Prevent Child Abuse Hawaii to share some of these important tips. Some tips for kids include: Learn how and when to call 911, if you are scared, RUN, and it's OK to be rude to adults who seem threatening.
For parents, Aileen suggests things such as: Know how to find and contact your kids, if an adult is threatening teach your child to be rude, and have child practice screaming.
