KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) - The National Weather Service in Honolulu has extended the flood advisory for Kauai until 8 a.m. Tuesday. Locations in the advisory include Kalaheo, Kalalau Valley, Kokee State Park and Kapaa.
The radar showed heavy rain spread out across the southern half of the island at around 4 a.m.
NWS advises staying away from streams, drainage ditches and low-lying areas prone to flooding. Rainfall and runoff may also cause reduced visibility and poor braking action due to ponding.
