PUKALANI, MAUI (HAWAIINEWSNOW) - Authorities are investigating an attempted kidnapping of a child on Maui in the Pukalani area.
Police say on Friday, September 26, a stranger grabbed a 10-year-old boy by the arm and told him to "come here."
The child managed to break away from the man's grip and run away.
Maui's Criminal Investigation Division was able to obtain a sketch of the suspect. The adult male is being described as in his 30's, approximately 240 pounds, with medium-brown colored skin, and bald with patches of black hair. He stands around 5 feet 5 inches tall.
Police say the suspect is described as local, possibly of Hawaiian descent, with a tribal diamond shaped tattoo on his right arm.
The suspect was seen driving away in a faded clack Honda Civic four door sedan with dark purple tints. The vehicle also had a white "piranha" skeleton sticker on the right rear bumper.
The public is asked to report any suspicious activities and be vigilant of your surroundings. If you see the suspect, call 911, please do not approach.
