Sunrise on the Road: Made in Maui Festival

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Sunrise is On the Road, and for this field trip Steve and Grace set up shop at the Maui Fair.

The Sunrise duo couldn't check out the fair without sampling some of the great food. From poi mochi to chicken hekka to the Maui exclusive Pronto Pups, Steve and Grace left the fair with full bellies and big smiles.

Aside from the delicious food, Steve and Grace also got down to business to talk about some of the biggest issues effecting Maui, like the GMO debate. The anchors sat down with supporters and detractors of GMO crops to get both sides of the story.

Steve got a chance to speak with both the Mayor of Maui County, Alan Arakawa about waste pick up and the new Chief of the Maui Police Tivoli Faaumu regarding his transition into his new leadership role.

Grace talked with a local treasure hunter who makes a living on returning lost items to their owners and two women involved in the launch of the first ever Made in Maui Festival.
