Suspected serial robber hits Kapahulu gas station

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Crimestoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking the public's assistance in locating a suspect who is wanted for robbing the Kapahulu Chevron gas station.

Police say around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, a masked male entered the Kapahulu Chevron, waved a black colored handgun, and demanded money. The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Police are describing the suspect as an Asian male in his 20s, who was wearing a white long sleeve shirt, dark colored pants, dark glasses, a black cloth over his face, and a light colored fishing hat.

Police sources confirm this is the serial robber responsible for three dozen similar robberies, but sources say it's unusual for him to hit in the middle of the day.

Hawaii School for the Deaf and the Blind and Jefferson Elementary in Waikiki were temporarily placed on lockdown while police searched for the suspect.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Crimestoppers at 955-8300 or *CRIME on your cellular phone.
