KAPOLEI, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - University of Hawaii West Oahu students and faculty will endure hot and humid conditions in their classrooms for a third straight day as the entire campus is without air conditioning.
The air conditioning system broke Monday morning due to malfunctioning equipment and all five buildings are affected, according to UH West Oahu. Parts are being flown in from the east coast, but there's no timeline to fix broken chiller units.
All classes are continuing as scheduled, but professors are being asked to provide alternate ways of learning such as taking their classes outside so students won't be stuck in hot classrooms for too long.
