IRVINE, Calif. - University of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine outside hitter Kalei Greeley recorded her first double-double of the season to land her the Big West Women's Volleyball Freshman of the Week. The weekly awards were announced Monday by the conference office.
Greeley and the 'Bows are off to a 2-0 Big West start after road wins this past weekend at UC Davis and UC Riverside. Over the two matches, she compiled a .314 hitting percentage (20-4-51) while averaging 3.33 kills, 3.50 digs and 0.50 blocks per set.
On Friday's sweep versus UC Davis, she produced eight kills and nine digs and also hit .333 with just one error in the match. On Saturday against the Highlanders, a homecoming of sorts for the Riverside native, she turned in her first double-double of the campaign with 12 kills and 12 digs, and added a pair of blocks to the effort. Greeley also hit .300 (12-3-30).
Hawaii will host its conference home opener this week, facing Cal State Fullerton on Friday and UC Irvine on Saturday at the Stan Sheriff Center.
