Magnitude-2.7 earthquake felt on Hawaii Island

PAHALA, HAWAII (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A magnitude-2.7 earthquake rocked part of Hawaii Island on Friday morning, but was too small to generate a tsunami warning.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake's epicenter was located about 15 miles southeast of Pahala.

Some residents reported feeling the earthquake, which happened at around 7:50 a.m., and said it lasted for about five seconds.
