KAILUA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Kailua artist and musician Cat Lud is asking for help in finding her brand new PONO ukulele, which was given to her by her manager just last week.

Thieves broke into Lud's home Monday, swiping the instrument worth about $1,200.

They also took her camera, some valuable bags and some jewelry. But Lud would really like to have the ukulele back. She said not having an instrument is frustrating for a musician.

"You know, they use that for art. It's not like it's the next big item. They use that to express themselves, and everything in between, and its frustrating when that gets taken away from you," said Lud.

The custom-made ukulele was in a case when it was taken.

Lud is also a star on the video-sharing app Vine, with more than 85,000 followers. Hawaii's Vine community is offering a reward for the items.

Anyone with information is asked to call police, or e-mail her manager at branapeles (at) gmail.com.
