Strong earthquake shakes Alaska, no tsunami threat to Hawaii

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A powerful shook parts of Alaska Thursday morning, but was not strong enough to generate a tsunami threat to Hawaii.

The quake was measured at a magnitude 6.2, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The earthquake happened at around 7:50 a.m. HST, about 60 miles west-northwest of Willow, Alaska.
