Honolulu Police catch a break in their search for a serial robber

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - He's connected to more than 30 holdups in Honolulu over the summer. Last week police finally released surveillance video of the man, who is always wearing a hoodie with his face covered and always has a weapon.

The video is from his most recent robbery, the Longs Drugs Store in Kaimuki. It happened last Thursday, about 5 in the morning.

HPD says the man is calm during the holdups. You can see him casually walk into the store and pull out a gun.

When he gets out of the store, police say, he runs, but no one has seen a getaway car.

They did catch a break at the latest crime though. Police sources say, a witness saw the man before he covered up his face. That witness helped with a composite sketch that was also released.

The man is Asian, five-feet-seven, weighing about 130 pounds.

He has hit dozens of stores, mostly in Waikiki. He's even targeted some places, multiple times. Back on July First, he talked trash to his victim, telling the clerk at the Longs Drugs store in Manoa, that he wasn't going to be caught.
