NIU VALLEY, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - There are new developments tonight as a child is now accusing a long-time doctor of sexual assault. Honolulu Police say a 12 year old girl was allegedly violated by Dr. Donald Nicol.
Yesterday we first reported two sisters, ages 19 and 21, claimed they had been sexually assaulted by the doctor. We spoke with the 19 year old victim today. She says she is not related to the 12-year old girl.
She says the inappropriate touching happened this year at the Kahaluu Clinic. She says there was no sedation or drugs involved.
The 73 year old doctor has been charged with 10 counts of sexual assault, including four counts of sex assault first degree; three counts of sex assault fourth degree; two counts of sex assault second degree and one count of sex assault third degree.
Dr. Nicol was released from custody on $750,000 bail. His attorney, Brook Hart, says he has not seen the documents and declined to comment today.
Dr. Nicol has had private practices in Niu Valley and Kahaluu for more than 30 years.
In 2010 he had a complaint with the state although he was not punished. A source says that case has now been reopened
In 1990 he was involved in a family abuse case. In 1984 he was accused of negligence. In 1979 there were two counts of sexual abuse and one harassment case. However court records don't go back that far so it's unclear if he was convicted.
