Motorcycle driver dies in morning Wailuku crash

WAILUKU, Hawaii (AP) - A 27-year-old man has died of injuries suffered in a motorcycle crash on Maui.

The Maui News reports 27-year-old Joeffrey Bacay of Kahului died in the crash Tuesday morning.

Maui County Police say Bacay was driving on the Honoapiilani Highway and crashed into a sedan as it was turning left at Kehalani Parkway in Wailuku.

Police took a call on the crash just before 7 a.m.

The motorcycle broke apart and hit a Toyota sedan driven.

Neither car driver was injured.

Bacay was not wearing a helmet. He was pronounced dead at Maui Memorial Medical Center.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
