HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A former credit union employee was sentenced in federal court Monday and will spend 13 months in prison.
Jenny Nishida, 41, admitted to stealing nearly $360,000 from the OTS Employees Federal Credit Union that serves city bus workers. The former teller pleaded guilty to making 122 false Visa card payments to herself, her husband and other relatives.
Nishida is one of three OTS employees who admitted to defrauding the institution.
Nicole Cheung, 34, will serve 20 days for the crime and pay restitution. She admitted stealing nearly $17,000 from her former employer in a credit card scam. Cheung was a loan officer for OTS.
Dona Takushi, 54, the former manager and CEO of the credit union, also admitted to stealing $120,000.
